The beach volleyball team of SC "Prometey" Diana Lunina and Tetiana Lazarenko won the silver awards of the prestigious tournament Beach Pro Tour-Madrid Futures 2023, which was held this weekend in the capital of Spain.

In Sunday's final, Ukrainian athletes met with the hosts of the competition - the Spanish duet Liliana\Paula.

Unfortunately, our team did not play the first set very well. At the beginning of the game, the Spaniards took the initiative and led the score (1:5). Then it only increased in favor of Liliana and Paula (5:10) thanks to an effective game in defense and a number of aces (9:15). In the end, the opening segment of the match ended in favor of our rivals - 15-21.

In the second set, the game was completely even: the Ukrainians tried to make fewer mistakes and act more loosely and confidently (5:5 – 19:19). However, on the side of the Spaniards was their home court and a huge amount of spectators. It was the ovation and support of local fans that gave Liliana and Paula strength (20-20). Lunina and Lazarenko kept an even score until the end of the set. At the decisive moment, the ball went out of the court from Luna's block, and in the next episode, she directed the attack to the out as well - 20-22 and 0-2 for the Spanish team.
